CONTINUITY OF CARER

Research shows that having the same midwife throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postnatal period can significantly improve the wellbeing of you, your baby, and your family. This is the philosophy that underpins the care I provide. My Continuity of Carer Package offers a one-stop approach to support you throughout your entire pregnancy and parenting journey.

This package includes all antenatal appointments, as well as referrals to NHS services if required. Appointments usually begin between 6–8 weeks of pregnancy and are carried out in the comfort of your own home.

Your first appointment will be a comprehensive booking appointment, lasting up to two hours. This is an opportunity for me to get to know you and your family in depth. During this visit, I will offer to take a series of blood tests and arrange scans where needed.

I will then see you every four weeks until you reach 28 weeks of pregnancy.

From 28 weeks, appointments will take place every two weeks until you are 36 weeks pregnant.

As you approach the final stages of pregnancy, we will meet weekly to ensure you feel prepared, calm, and confident for birth—whatever birth plan you are choosing.

I will devise a bespoke Birth Box, thoughtfully created to support both you and your birth partner during labour and birth. Each Birth Box is individually tailored to your needs, preferences, and birth plans, and may include items such as a birthing comb, birth affirmations, and other practical and comfort-enhancing tools to support focus, relaxation, and confidence during labour. This personalised approach ensures you have meaningful, supportive resources available throughout your birth experience.

I will be on call for your birth 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing consistent, dedicated support when you need it most.

Within this package, you will receive 1:1 bespoke antenatal education, including biomechanics for pregnancy and labour, a full KG Hypnobirthing course, and birth mapping or complex birth mapping where required.

Wherever you choose to give birth, I can be there to support you.

If you are planning a home birth, I will fully support this choice and provide an insured second midwife to attend your birth.

If you are planning an NHS hospital birth, I can attend as your advocate and support person, alongside your birth partner.

Once your baby is born, I will continue to support you every step of the way. During the postnatal period, appointments typically last 1-2 hours and usually take place on the following days: Day 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10, 14, 21, and 28

These visits are flexible and can be adjusted to suit your individual needs and any clinical requirements. During postnatal visits, I will provide expert feeding support, holistic care for both you and your baby, newborn care, and weighing of your baby when required or indicated.

I would love to discuss this package further and answer any questions you may have — please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
